We arrived yesterday afternoon after a smooth journey, and this morning I awake in the women's dorm with the other 8 ladies on our trip, with the guys next door. We hadn't slept for 38 hours, having travelled during the night, so the thunderous rain pelting on the high metal roof could do nothing to keep me awake! Last night the kids were all introduced to us, we took a tour of the campus - school, dorms, missionary home, kitchen and soccer field. Today is breakfast at 8 (food is a combo of tortilla, beans, eggs, rice, plaintain), church, play with the kids and make an itinerary for the week. There is flexibility to manage our time between working on projects here and being with the kids. Already I see that the girls are more shy and will take some more interaction from us. Good job we brought some girly fun things to do! |
