A note from Jessica

Hi my name is Jessica and I'm 13 years old. I'm in 7th grade and I go to BJHS. Some things I do outside of school are lots of sports, swimming and track. I also help out at my church, such as I help in the pre-school room at Sunday school, and help with my family at events. I also do Nerve to Serve which is a week in Summer when we do things to help people in our community, and of course this mission trip.
I'm looking forward to Honduras, because its not just a working mission trip, it can also be some fun. The type of things I want to do there, is not just donate money to a couple kids, I want to actually talk to the kids there, maybe play some games with them, and give them some good memories to hold on to because they probably won't have them very often.
I want to help them by letting them know about Jesus. He helped me realize there is much more to life than what I see here and now. He gave me a lot of hope, and I want to show that the kids can have that too because they have had a lot of bad things happen to them.
My favorite bible verse is Romans 1:16 " For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes:"
